A new social widget is now available to Gmail users. This widget displays contextual information about the people in your conversation drawn from shared emails, buzz posts, documents, and calendar events. The people widget also makes it easy to start a group chat or schedule a meeting with the people you’re emailing.

How to access what's new:
The widget will appear on the right hand side of your screen when viewing an email conversation. This feature is being rolled out to all users over the next week.
